Customer FAQs
The Qlicksmart BladeFLASK has been designed to comply with the international standard colours for medical sharps waste. The red unit complies with US standards and the yellow unit for all other countries around the globe.
Once BladeFLASK is fully filled, it must be disposed of as medical waste. BladeFLASK is a sharps container itself so you do not need to put it in another sharps container. Please follow your organisation’s standard procedures for disposal of medical waste. Please note: if your organisation’s infection control guidelines require you to dispose BladeFLASK within a certain period of time regardless whether it’s fully filled or not, please consult us for sterile use alternatives.
No. Each BladeFLASK has been designed and tested to accept an approximate of 100 blades. After the 100th blade has been removed, an auto shut-off gate will be activated (with the indicator shown as “FULL”) to prevent overfilling.
The counter counts down from 100 to 0, then 'FULL', which is designed to indicate to the users when the device is becoming full and a new one may be needed.
BladeFLASK is constantly being reviewed for use with new handles and blades as they are released. BladeFLASK can accept round handles where the thickness of the handle is not more than 3.6mm. BladeFLASK accommodates to #3, #3L, #4, #4L, #5, #6, #7, #9, Baron & Lawton Long Handle. BladeFLASK cannot accept blades longer than #36 due to the depth of the Flask. The BladeFLASK CANNOT be used with Beaver handles, safety scalpels or disposable plastic handles. Some brands of handles may not work well with BladeFLASK due to the shape and slope of the handle tang.

Installation Guide
Qlicksmart Marketing Materials- bracket installation
Customer FAQs
The universal bracket helps to position the BladeFLASK so that it can remove blades single-handedly. The bracket also allows the BladeFLASK to be mounted conveniently either on a vertical or horizontal surface, eg, on a wall or on the trolley, with screws of industrial strength two-sided tape. Most importantly, make sure the bracket is fixed at the optimal point-of-use, ie, a handy location where people can use the BladeFLASK to remove blades immediately, which will decrease the chances of using their fingers to remove blades. You should use the fixation template, which is included in the package, to ensure the minimal clearance is achieved for positioning BladeFLASK.
A new bracket needs to be reinstalled only when the current bracket starts to become loose and no longer holds the BladeFLASK firmly on the wall or bench. You do no need to install a new bracket every time you replace the BladeFLASK. However, you may need to (re)install a new bracket if the location of the BladeFLASK is not fixed optimally, ie, for people to remove blades conveniently. To avoid this, make sure that the BladeFLASK is fixed at the best point-of-use.

Customer FAQs
The BladeCASSETTE is constantly being reviewed for use with new handles and blades as they are released. The BladeCASSETTE accommodates to #3, #3L, #4, #4L, #5, #6, #7, #8, #9, Baron & Lawton Long Handle. The BladeCASSETTE accommodate to #6, #9, #10, #10A, #11, #12, #13, etc. up to and including #25A, #27 and #36 scalpel blades. BladeCASSETTE cannot accept blades longer than #36. The BladeCASSETTE CANNOT be used with Beaver handles, safety scalpels or disposable plastic handles.
Yes, the BladeCASSETTE is listed as a Class 1 device with the FDA.
The process of activation, i.e. pushing the loaded scalpel into the cartridge, should always be single-handed. There is no need to hold onto the BladeCASSETTE during this stage. Two hands are required only when removing the scalpel handle from the device after the blade is already secured in the cartridge.
Each BladeCASSETTE can hold up to 3 blades.
As BladeCASSETTE is designed for the sterile field, and almost every procedure performed uses a minimum of two scalpel blades (one to cut through the skin which is considered as contaminated and not to be used internally, no matter how well the skin is prepped before the operation; and another to use internally), there are three cartridges in each set of BladeCASSETTE to cater for most operations.
No, in keeping with the principals of universal precautions, BladeCASSETTE is designed for single-use only. The scalpel blade cannot be removed once it is already contained in the cartridge, so it will not be possible to remove more blades with the same cartridge. If more than 3 blades are to be removed, additional BladeCASSETTE should be used.
The red printing on each cartridge is to indicate the direction of which way of the loaded scalpel should be inserted. If the blade is inserted in the opposite direction, the device will not activate. If this situation occurs, remove the loaded scalpel from the cartridge with care and use a new cartridge to remove the blade.
With a stable and compact construction, the BlaseCASSTTE is ideal for the sterile field. The BladeCASSETTE can be raised and lowered as required. When it’s not being used, the pedestal can be closed and then can be laid down flat on the instrument table, taking less room than a deck of cards.
In the United States, sharps devices are recognised by the red colour, while the rest of the world uses yellow colour. BladeCASSETTE is designed to follow these standardised colour codes.
YES, it is latex and DEHP free! The entire composition of the BladeCASSETTE is made of polypropylene (PP).
After the count has been performed, the whole BladeCASSETTE set is disposed of as medical waste in a sharps container.

Yes, the BladeSINGLE is listed as a Class 1 device with the FDA.
The process of activation, i.e. pushing the loaded scalpel into the cartridge, should always be single-handed. There is no need to hold onto the cartridge during this stage. Two hands are required only when removing the scalpel handle from the cartridge after the blade is already secured in the cartridge.
Each set of BladeNeedleSYSTEM contains two cartridges, and each cartridge can hold one blade.
There are 2 cartridges because almost every procedure performed uses a minimum number of 2 blades. When more than 2 blades are used, extra cartridge is available for bigger procedure, which keep cost to a minimum.
No, in keeping with the principals of universal precautions, the cartridge is designed for single-use only. Once the blade is contained in the cartridge, the blade cannot be removed so it is not possible to remove more blades. The BNS comes with 2 cartridges. If more than 2 blades are to be removed, additional cartridge or BladeNeedleSYSTEM should be used. Additional cartridge can be purchased in sterile packaging or to be added to kitpacks (the exact number of cartridges can be specified).
After the count has been performed, the whole BladeNeedleSYSTEM set is disposed of as medical waste in a sharps container.
One of the features of the BladeNeedleSYSTEM is that it integrated a needle counter and blade remover. Needle counter is frequently used in most surgeries, therefore, it does not take up extra space as compared to the current practice.
Sharps devices are normally designated by the colour red in the United States. The rest of the world uses the colour yellow. The BladeNeedleSYSTEM follow these colour schemes.
YES, it is latex and DEHP free! The cartridge is made of polypropylene, and the needle counter box is made of High Impact Polystyrene.

How to Use

Customer FAQs
The SnapIT Personal comes in Regular size, which fits most 1mL-15mL ampoules. However, compatibility depends on the ampoule's geometry and the diameter of the ampoule lid.  Ampoules of the same size can have a different geometry and ampoule lid diameter. The regular size is compatible with an ampoule diamter from 7.15mm to 9.75mm. Note that the ampoule size in ml is used only as a guideline.
It is important to follow the steps of “How to Use SnapIT”, as risk of shattering is minimised if these instructions are followed. You should align the ampoule dot with the SnapIT, then snap away from the dot; if aligned incorrectly, shattering may occur. If there is no dot on the ampoule, but there is a line around the ampoule neck, then there is no need to align the ampoule with SnapIT before snapping open. Ampoules that have no dot or line around the ampoule neck can mean that it has no scoring. You will need to score the ampoule (via a small saw or blade, etc.) before using SnapIT to open the ampoule. If the ampoule shatters and glass shards are inside the SnapIT is proof that SnapIT has done its job and protected you from injury – the shards are not in your thumb. If shattering occurs, follow the steps for cleaning the SnapIT and replace the O-Ring. One replacement O-Ring is included with your SnapIT packaging.
Depending on the frequency of use, it is recommended that the SnapIT is cleaned daily or weekly to remove any glass residues that left inside. If the glass ampoule shatters inside your SnapIT, clean immediately and replace your O-Ring.
The SnapIT Personal Edition can be autoclaved up to 130°, or can be sufficiently cleaned or disinfected using hospital grade alcohol wipes and/or detergent for use in cleaning instruments. Although the ampoule openers will not be sterilised with these cleaning techniques, they are acceptable common practice to sufficiently clean the ampoule openers.
YES, they are latex free! SnapIT is made of durable anodised aluminium. SnapIT Lite is made of high quality plastic. The O-ring inside is made of silicone rubber.
The SnapIT Personal Edition comes with a metal ring which enables it to be used on a key ring or clip, or hung from a lanyard. They are light-weight so you can carry them in your pocket. If using on trolleys, Qlicksmart recommends using the SnapIT Trolley Edition, which has a flat side that stops it from rolling and potentially falling off a table or trolley, or SnapIT Lite edition which have hexagonal collars which also step them from rolling.

Product Description

The Qlicksmart CheckCLIP medication labelling device allows clinicians to draw up the drug with both the syringe and vial remaining in their hands at all time. This reduces the risk of both syringe swap and vial swap errors. The CheckCLIP medication labeling device is simple and quick to use, enabling a clear visual cross-checking of the medication details without obstructing the incremental dosage markings on the syringe. This significantly improves the tracking and identification of medications, and assists in compliance with the Five Rights of medication administration.
